The need here in Houston is MUCH GREATER than we anticipated, or than anyone expected.

Hurricane Beryl intensified just before landfall and also made a turn that caused a direct hit on the city of Houston. Remember, this is the second major natural disaster to hit Houston in less than two months.

As of this morning, about TWO MILLION PEOPLE are still without power in Texas. This is a widespread and long-lasting power outage that has created an urgent need for relief.

+ + 25 shelters and numerous assisted living facilities need help...

Mercy Chefs is now operating from two distribution points with two mobile kitchens and our base at a church near the heart of the need. We just brought even more resources to Houston because the need is so great.

There are 25 shelters and numerous assisted living facilities that need help. Our meal count is growing by the day. We could serve 20,000 or more meals today through this weekend.
